Many years ago, a king placed a huge rock on a frequently used pathway and hid himself nearby to see who would remove it. He watched as some of his wealthiest merchants and advisors simply just walked around the huge rock. Instead, he heard many of them complain that the king was not keeping the roads clear. Then, a peasant passed by carrying a heavy load of vegetables. As he approached the huge rock, he placed his load of vegetables on the ground and pushed and pushed the heavy rock to the side of the road. Just as he was about to pick up his vegetables and continue on his journey, he saw a purse lying right where the rock used to be. He opened it and found many gold coins and a piece of paper indicating that the gold belonged to the one who moved the rock from the road.
In life, we are often faced with obstacles along the way. These can be anything from unforeseen circumstances, lack of finances, people not believing in our dreams or even our own impatience. What matters is how we deal with them. We can go around them and complain like the merchants or we can tackle them head on and not let them stand in our way of achieving our goals. It all requires a little effort on our part. Because every obstacle gives us an opportunity to improve our condition.
